Reference photos
I work from the photos you provide. Sharp photos where the eyes and other details are clearly visible make all the difference in bringing your animal to life in the painting. One good reference is enough, but several photos help me get a better understanding of the animal's appearance.
The best pictures are usually taken at the animal's eye level in soft natural light, for example outdoors or near a window.
If you prefer not to include items such as a collar or bridle in the painting, it is best to remove them before taking the photos.
What to expect
Once we have discussed your wishes and chosen the reference photo, I will create a proposal for the composition and overall look of the painting. After you approve the sketch, the order is confirmed with a 50% deposit.
When the painting is complete, you may request small adjustments if needed. I'll then send you a PDF showing the finished artwork in a variety of frame options so you can choose your favorite.
The painting will be left to dry for a few weeks before I apply the final varnish and frame it. I will then carefully package your painting, ready for its journey to its new home.
