Commissioned pet portraits
I would love to create an oil painting of your pet! The time to complete a painting varies depending on its size and my current queue, usually 1-3 months.
I work from the photos you provide. We'll select one main photo as a reference, but the more photos you can send, the better I can get to know your pet's personality and features before starting. Different lighting can make fur and eyes appear slightly different in color, so additional photos help me capture your loved one accurately.
Photography tips
To get the best photo for your pet portrait, try getting down to your pet's eye level - whether it's a dog, cat, or a hamster.
Natural light works best, so try to take the photo outside or near a bright window. However, it's good to avoid very strong direct sunlight.
Please remove your dogs collar, if you don't want it to show in the painting. Extra items in the background are not a problem.
When taking photos, it can be helpful to have someone with you to attract the pet's attention toward the camera.
Prices
Prices are for one animal, and include framing but exclude shipping. Another animal in the same image +25%.
Importing art from Finland is duty-free to at least the USA and the EU. To avoid surprises, please check local regulations for other regions.

What to expect
When you place an order, I'll provide an estimated completion date for your painting.
Before starting to paint, I will create a digital design of the composition and color scheme based on your wishes. You are of course welcome to request adjustments, both at this stage and after the painting is finished - I want you to be completely happy with the result.
Once the painting is complete, it's time to choose the frame. I'll send you a PDF showing the artwork displayed in a variety of frames, so you can select the one that feels just right.
After the painting has dried, been varnished, and payment has been recieved (via Wise or PayPal), it will be carefully packaged and sent to its new home.
